Philosophy

As an actor, director, and teacher, I have found a way to give students a practical approach to help them work and compete in this business. Ultimately, the acting process is a journey of self- exploration. In my opinion, this is one of the most difficult and yet fulfilling steps an actor can take in pursuit of his/her dream. People are human beings. They have emotions. I like to teach the actor how to mine those emotions and use them for his or her own creative expression.

As a young actor, I found that too many classes complicated the craft by making it too academic. Once I got to set, I realized that most of what I had “learned” went right out of the window. That is because the powers-that-be were looking for something real, not cerebral. My goal is to help actors unlock their real feelings so that they are able to put their own unique mark on whatever character they play.

That is not to say you won’t get knocked around in the process. This dream isn’t something that happens overnight. But if you always keep in mind that the destination means nothing if you don’t enjoy the journey, it is truly amazing what you can overcome. This career wasn’t supposed to happen for me, but that didn’t stop me from winning. And that’s what we’re all about here.
